We've worked with Engineering Managers and found them assignments with system integrators, OEMs, consultancies or bespoke machine manufacturers. Engineering Managers we've found new roles for have often gone on to be hiring managers for the customers we've introduced them to. They've seen how we work in terms of the candidate experience and have been keen for us to represent their team & opportunity in the same way. We have over 20 years experience delivering solutions to technology driven businesses and departments, this means we're well positioned when it comes to identifying highly capable Engineering Managers.
Skills needed
- Experienced Controls Engineering Managers are often all rounders by default, they’re responsible for identifying, designing, scoping, tendering, contracting and then delivering projects. They’re budget managers, schedulers, sales people, recruiters, coaches, leaders and inspirers too!
- Engineering Managers we’ve represented have come from a wide range of backgrounds. Often time-served apprentices, they’ve worked their way up through engineering departments, picking up qualifications on the way. MBAs, MSc or Chartered status often help Engineering Managers stand out from the crowd.
- Successful Engineering Managers need to be strong at managing upwards, dealing with boards to agree and deliver on capital expenditure projects. Often using persuasion and negotiation skills to ensure they can deliver successfully.
