Samuel Frank is looking for a Commissioning Engineer with experience of servicing and commissioning large drives systems in a heavy engineering environment, for example metal production or marine industries.
Key aspects of the Commissioning Engineer position –
- On site service and commissioning of systems which are mainly inverter drive based, with large motors and complexity ranging from single inverter in a box to multi bay, PLC controlled HMI/SCADA based lines.
- Experienced drives system Commissioning Engineer – either having worked as a Field Service or Commissioning Engineer for one of the major drives companies, or as a Commissioning Engineer for a system integrator
- Worked on heavy engineering motor control systems – motor sizes range from 0.75kW to 400kW
- Drive tuning
- Be able to implement the commissioning process from initial checks, to powering the system, IO checks, inverter drive configuration, dry running, through to wet commissioning trials and initial production support.
- On site fault finding and retrofit of new Inverter Drives into existing systems.
- Make some modifications to hardware and/or software on site
- International travel is expected and the customer estimates 5-6 trips per year of approximately 2-3 weeks in duration – recent destinations have included Brazil and India.
- Overtime is paid x1.3 for hours worked over during the week, x1.5 on Saturdays and x2.0 on Sundays
- As well as overtime, the company pays a £50 per day uplift for time spent abroad (as well as all agreed receipted business expenses being claimable)
The Commissioning Engineer role will involve extensive UK and foreign travel so eligibility to work in the UK and gain visas for non-EU countries easily is a requirement for the role.
The client is based in the West Midlands and is easily commutable from the following places – Birmingham, Kidderminster, Redditch, Halesowen, Dudley, West Bromwich and Worcester.
