Control Systems Engineer – Permanent – Lancashire – Hybrid Working – £47-52k

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join a very well-established client in the Lancashire area. The company is an engineering contractor, operating in the bulk handling and conveyor sectors.

They have a full order book and they’re recruiting a new Control Systems Engineer to help grow the team and add capacity for their expanding order list!

If you’re interested in working on large-scale systems (i.e. some of their projects are massive), across a wide variety of sectors, using kit designed for heavy loads, then this could be a great opportunity for you!

Key aspects of the Control Systems Engineer position include –

  • Ideally have both Siemens and Rockwell PLC experience – Rockwell preferred, to include starter control, communications, I/O mapping, sequence software, alarms and simulation
  • Previous experience of writing Functional Design Specifications – essential
  • Ideally have experience of writing software and associated documentation for material handling, conveyors or bulk handling systems
  • I/O Schedule Compilation – specifically drive monitoring and field I/O as well as Communication Schedules (for HMI and/or SCADA) derivatives
  • Control System Hardware definition including PLC, I/O Communication Systems and I/O Card selection
  • Open to working on customer sites – could be UK or Europe (could work Mon-Fri away or work “12 on/2 off” whilst away) – medium sized projects could involve 4-6 weeks on customer site

The client is easily commutable from most of Lancashire including locations such as Bolton, Wigan, Preston, Chorley, Blackburn, St. Helens or Bury.
