Samuel Frank is now recruiting for a Staffordshire based systems integrator as they look to grow their controls team. We are looking for a PLC Software Engineer who has a demonstrable track record of programming and commissioning PLCs. They’ve recently won a significant amount of new work in addition to the work they already had lined up coming into 2020 so need to grow the team.
This role will provide the successful applicant an opportunity to work in a well structured, professional environment, with very good staff retention and to work alongside some high-calibre, seasoned Engineers.
Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer position include;
- PLC (and ideally some HMI/SCADA) programming – experience with some of the following systems: – Siemens TIA Portal and/or WinCC – Rockwell Studio 5000 – Mitsubishi PLCs/HMIs
- Has been sole developer in small to medium projects for full project lifecycle from concept through to handover including site based commissioning
- Familiar with Industrial Ethernet networking, particularly Profinet which would be advantageous
- Understanding or experience of working with old/legacy code on upgrade or replacement projects
The client is a small & very well-established system integrator. This means the successful PLC Software Engineer can expect to get involved in all stages of the project life cycle and potentially have a big impact on the business, whilst progressing into a more senior role.
The client’s customers are predominantly based in the North of England and Wales, so any site work will involve short term visits rather than spending weeks/months away at a time.
The client’s premises are easily commutable from the following locations – Stoke, Congleton, Crewe, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Leek, Middlewich and Nantwich.
