Software & Commissioning Engineer – North Manchester – Permanent – Salary £40-50k + overtime – Special Purpose Machinery
Major plus points – SME business, strong order book, plenty of opportunity to see your work come to fruition i.e. full project life cycle, plenty of site work involved, not stuck in the office all day!
Key aspects of the Software & Commissioning Engineer role include;
- PLC programming (typically Allen Bradley and/or Siemens and/or Mitsubishi)
- SCADA / HMI system design (WinCC, FactoryTalkView)
- Knowledge of inverters and servo drives
- Assisting with site commissioning and training when required
- Liaising with customers and provide telephone support
- A requirement for a full UK driving licence
Samuel Frank is recruiting for a local Software & Commissioning Engineer to join a team of talented Engineers for a key client in the North Manchester area. The successful Software & Commissioning Engineer should have a demonstrable track record of programming control systems within automation from scratch. This position will be split approximately 70/30 between the office and customer sites across the UK. The company is a controls and automation design, build and installation outfit working predominantly in the food manufacturing sector.
The Software & Commissioning Engineer will be involved in the full project life cycle and therefore be involved in site based commissioning. This will typically be 1-3 days in the UK and on big projects it may be 1-2 weeks (UK or International).
The company is a Siemens and Rockwell solutions partner and most of their work is delivered using Siemens or Rockwell PLCs with some projects using Mitsubishi PLCs.
Applicants with experience of writing software for special purpose machinery / material processing machines could be well suited to this opportunity.
